Leveraging brand

Applied TED’s famous “red dot” concept through the user interface, symbolising the moment ideas take the stage and contextualising local ideas within a global TED brand platform.

Ease of access

Inspiring talks can be easily discovered and watched through a seamless content library and user flow, increasing user engagement and deepening interaction.

Since 2012, TEDxPerth has brought together our city’s most visionary thinkers to share powerful ideas that spark meaningful change.

As TEDxPerth evolves into more than an event series, it becomes a year-round digital experience inviting global audiences into local conversations.

Juicebox first partnered with TEDxPerth in 2022 to enhance the website’s capability to;

  • Promote upcoming events and ticketing
  • Showcase speakers and house their talk videos
  • Encourage volunteer applications and speaker nominations
  • Inspire curious users to dive deeper into its content
  • Enable easy content management to keep content fresh and relevant

At Juicebox, we were thrilled to be guiding the creative, design, and development of TEDxPerth’s digital platform, allowing them to continue delivering “ideas change everything” and engaging a thriving community of thinkers and innovators.

The iconic red dot

We started by identifying TEDxPerth’s core objective: to promote events and ticket sales while engaging a diverse, intellectually curious audience.

The challenge was to create a local identity for TEDxPerth that aligned with TED’s globally iconic brand and ethos of innovation and inspiration.

Concept driven user experience

At every event, TED’s iconic ‘red dot’ is a powerful symbol of ideas taking the stage. When applied to the interface design to spotlight local speakers and elevate to global stage.

Seamless stream of content

Drawing inspiration from popular streaming platforms, we designed a seamless flow of content that encouraged visitors to lose themselves in TEDxPerth’s rich library, guiding them to watch and share content, explore events, and buy tickets.

A platform for future campaigns

Whether promoting upcoming events, highlighting new speakers or recruiting volunteers, the website’s flexible infrastructure and modular design system allows for rapid content updates and campaign management without technical bottlenecks.

Practical and scalable CMS

A flexible, easily customisable CMS that allows TEDxPerth’s team to manage content on the fly. Whether adding new talks, updating event information, or promoting campaigns, the platform allows for smooth content updates and scalability as TEDxPerth’s reach grows.
